A winter tearoom on board a Victorian Sailing Barge, moored on Maldon’s Historic Hythe Quay.

Come aboard a beautiful Edwardian sailing barge, moored on Maldon's picturesque Hythe Quay for a memorable tearoom experience.

These barges boast their distinctive red ochre sails, evoke an era long since past. Once the East Coasts traditional cargo vessel at the turn of the century the Thames Sailing Barge fleet numbered over 2,000, today only a handful of traditional Barges survive.

Included within this experience is an afternoon tea for two made with fresh ingredients supplied from Maldon high street including Buntings Butchers, Greens and Crusty Loaf. Their delicious cakes, scones and sandwiches are all cooked on board daily in the galley.

Your afternoon tea will include an individual pot of tea or cafetiere of coffee, a selection of fresh sandwiches, delicious scones with cream and jam and a choice of two cakes served on a China stand. You will also receive a 20cl bottle of Prosecco each to enjoy.

Please note that the Barge is stationary at all times.

• You must validate, book and use your voucher within the voucher expiry date.

• Generally you will spend an hour at the venue, but there is no set time.

• This experience is for you and a friend to enjoy, however there will be other customers at the venue when you visit.

• You are welcome to bring family and friends, but they will need to pay on booking.

• If you have any dietary requirements, please notify the venue on booking.
• The minimum age for this experience is 18 years old.

• There are no qualification requirements.

• This experience is available on selected Tuesday to Friday dates,, October to April. Restrictions may apply - please check on booking.
