Journey back into recent history on this day trip to the River Kwai and its famous bridge. One of the most exciting parts of this tour is the train journey itself, which travels along the death railway and culminates in a long tail boat ride along the Kwai Noi River.
The River Kwai lies in Kanchanaburi province to the west of Bangkok, an agricultural area filled with rice paddies and sugar cane and pineapple plantations.
The bridge itself, along with the beginning of the ‘Death Railway’, lies 2km outside the town and acts as a poignant reminder of those that lost their lives here when they were forced into labour during WWII.
A long-tailed speedboat will take you along the river to the famous bridge where you have time to explore at leisure.
A ride along the railway and lunch are followed by a visit to the JEATH war museum and an Allied War Grave cemetery before the return to Bangkok city.
