Your guide will explain the importance of death and the afterlife in Ancient Egyptian culture as you witness this incredible piece of human history in person. The museum also contains a wonderful selection of artefacts representing the Anglo Saxon culture, such as those found at the burial sites of Sutton Hoo. Your guide will share the amazing story of how these objects survived the centuries and the grave robbers, making them an improbable find. Due to some works at the Tottenham Court Road tube station we’ve had to update our meeting point instructions for this tour. Previously we used to advise clientsto exit through Exit 3 but as this exit will now be closed until Decemberyou must now exit though Exit 1. Please see the amended wording below:
Arriving by tube: Take the tube to Tottenham Court Road station and exit from Exit 1. When leaving the station you will be on the corner of Oxford Street; from there cross to the opposite side of the road directly in front of you. Then cross the road on your right hand side (towards the Dominion Theatre) and, turning left, walk to the end of the street, leaving the tube station behind you. Take the first turn on your right onto Great Russell Street. The museum will be situated on your left. Enter the museum gates and your guide will be standing just to the left with a sign.
April - October: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday at 2pm.
November - March: Sundays, Tuesdays and Saturdays at 2pm.
Meeting Point: Your guide will meet you at Russell Square by the red telephone boxes directly opposite The Principal London Hotel at the entrance to the park. Arriving by tube: Take the Piccadilly line to Russell Square tube station. Turn left out of the station and walk straight up Bernard Street. At the traffic lights cross over the road and the meeting point is directly in front of you.
Start Time: 2pm
Meeting Time: 1.45pm. Please be at meeting point at least 15min before departure time.
Duration: 2hrs approx.
Ends: 4pm approximately.

Additional Information: Tour not suitable for passengers with mobility problems and involves a fair amount of walking and stairs; comfortable shoes are recommended.
