Those with a limited time to explore the Vatican should not miss the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
Until now, an express visit focusing on these two highlights was impossible due to the long lines and the suffocating crowds. Today, with our Exclusive Partner’s Early Access, a quality two hour long escorted visit focusing on just the Chapel and Basilica is a reality. Not only that, you’ll also experience the Sistine Chapel in some of the best conditions possible.
We’ll be the first group to step inside, with a 15 minute head start on other tour groups and a 1 hour and 15 minute head start on the general public! With such a significant head start, we’ll head straight for the Sistine Chapel, where we’ll have the privilege of being the first group to enter.
When you have had your fill of the beauty of the Creation of Adam and the Last Judgment, it’s time to move on to St. Peter’s Basilica. Your tour escort will lead you through the side access to the Basilica directly from the exit of the Sistine Chapel, avoiding the long lines that can form at the external entrance. On the way over you’ll enjoy an introduction to the Basilica and the amazing sights you’ll encounter within.
After you have had free time to explore the main level of the Basilica, your tour escort will lead you down to the Crypts of the Popes, housed in the space between the older 4th century Basilica and St. Peter’s, which was built on top of it. At the conclusion of your visit your tour escort will lead you outside the entrance of the Basilica, leading on to Bernini’s architectural masterpiece: St. Peter’s Square.
Extra measures may be implemented at some venues due to heightened global security. As a result, we may experience delays in getting through mandatory security checks when entering these venues. Extra measures may also restrict the size of bags that can be brought inside. To avoid disruptions or possible denied entry, we strongly suggest that you avoid bringing large purses, bags, or backpacks on your tour. The Vatican only permits very small bags, and specifically prohibits large bags, tripods, umbrellas, and backpacks. Any such items must be checked into the free luggage storage area which may result in your having to leave the tour early to retrieve them at the entrance.
