Yucatan 2 Day Trip - Uxmal Chichen Itza and Merida
Travel back in time and discover the magic of Chichen Itza and Uxmal, two of the most important archaeological pre-Hispanic sights in the Mayan world. Travel in the comfort of an air-conditioned vehicle and let an expert bilingual guide tell you everything you need to know during the Yucatan Overview all-inclusive tour!
Day One:
We will depart from Cancun or Mayan Riviera and travel to Chichen Itza, one of the main assets and cultural sites of the Mayan culture.
Your guide will explain the historical significance of the most important temples of this ancient city during the semi-private tour before you enjoy Chichen Itza at your own pace.
Afterwards you can relax in the pools and facilities of Mayaland Resort and enjoy buffet lunch at the Mayaland Hotel.
From Chichen Itza you will travel west to Uxmal, considered to be the most beautiful and spectacular site of the ancient Mayan culture.
In the evening you have the chance to enjoy a beautiful spectacle: The Light and Sound Show! You will see the temples and pyramids of the ancient city being gradually revealed in all their glory.
After the show, you will enjoy a delicious dinner served at the Lodge at Uxmal. Sleep in an absolutely peaceful atmosphere in the Hotel Hacienda Uxmal, which is within walking distance of the Uxmal site.
Important: Admission fee into the archaeological site is NOT included, and will be payable upon entrance. This is $254 Pesos which is only approximately £10 per Adult. Children between 3-13 years old need to pay only $85Pesos (approx. £3) for the entrance to the archeological sites.
Day Two:
After a delicious breakfast you will be conducted by our guide to explore Uxmal in a small-group tour. Visit the Choco-Story museum and learn all about the ceramic-making process and enjoy a demonstration of chocolate preparation, following an ancestral recipe. Try the freshly made beverage, mixed with the ingredients of your choice!
After visiting Uxmal we set off for Merida, stopping at the Yaxcopoil Hacienda on the way. The Hacienda represents the history of three great periods in the Yucatan and the booming years of henequen cultivation during the late 19th and early 20th century.
Take a sightseeing tour in Merida and get to know the important sites of interest. Merida was founded in 1542, nowadays its bustling centre boasts colonial churches and mansions as well as Paseo de Montejo: This tree-lined avenue is famous for its beautiful French-style residences, as it was built at the turn of the century when the henequen industry was at its peak.
In the mid-afternoon we will depart for Cancun or Riviera Maya and will proceed to drop you off at your hotel so that you can relax and enjoy the rest of your vacation.

Pick-ups from hotels in Cancun and Mayan Riviera are included. If you stay in Cancun Downtown, meeting point will be at Bonampak Hotel, you will need to make your own way there.
Tour start time: Approximately at 7am (pick-up). Exact times will be confirmed once you are in resort.
End of tour: Approximately at 6pm on the following day. Exact times will be confirmed once you are in resort.
